On posting

As an FYI, whilst the quick posts are easy and I can post snaps...its not a well thought out narrative.
That requires a keyboard, good WiFi.and a reliable 230v connection.
Lots to post about the reality of this lifestyle..but the gist is that behind every Instagram worthy pic of someone wanting about like a sunbaked hippy in a travel ad,  there is a pile.of dirty washing, tool boxes, cockroach spray cans and tubes of antisan for the mosquito bites.

 Welcome. So the blog is going to be in two parts.  Part 1: Getting there.  Going from Retiring and recovering from having three tendons re-attached in my shoulder - through the exercise of getting Non-Lucrative Visas and purchasing the boat - and getting it ready for a life afloat.  This involves navigating Spanish bureaucracy, finding a boat, packing a life up and the preparations for a peripatetic life on a boat. Blogging has been light...

Well, we have been driving pretty much since 08:30 Friday morning. Its now 18:26 local  time (Z+1), here in Ciudad Quesada - which observant students of Operation NEPTUNE will deduce, means we have arrived. 1425 miles in CoE, 2285 in Napoleon. 4 tanks of fuel. Boat keys, certificates of entry, Audi dealership visits, supermarkets, first kit load on the boat and then a trip to Leroy Merlin followed by a meal out barbecue and loading for sea-trials - these are all to come over the rest of the week. In the meantime - we have to find homes afloat and ashore for a car full. Fiddler's green, however, is upon us. Das Boot
