I have a proper account of OLYMPIC II in draft as I tidy it up and transcribe the log...but I had the right conditions for this beauty today as we hopped from Portinatx to San Miguel. (Completed our crossing from Mallorca yesterday and we are on our home leg again...I am writing up the whole trip day by day so it is taking time). My cruising chute/asymmetric/Gentleman's Spinnaker is GO!

San Antonio.

I know I said it wouldn't be contemporaneous but.... Es Nautic, San Antonio, Ibiza

Part of why I post the exciting stuff like gales and storms and lightning is to highlight we ain't just sat on a behind drinking Cava...we have to navigate and sail the boat hard in tricky conditions...usually at night. However for each night like last...we have 3 or 4 where we doss about...swim off the back of the boat...have barbecues and mess about engines I will bore you with oil change and freshwater filter blockages and air locks at some point. In the mean time. Boat fridges. Dontchyer wish your fridge was sexy like this? Not quite 'Insta' perfect life eh?

I am behind on my posting...OLYMPIC II

Another crossing back to Ibiza and Formentera. I know I have three unpublished posts.in draft...but I need to fiddle with the pics as for some reason, blogger often flips them thru 90° on mobile. So you will have to do with a badly typed unspellchecked note. The raw data looks like this. We did Torrevieja to Tabarca to Formentera again last night. We were chasing the tail of a low pressure system in sea area Valencia. This promised a solid 15kts S'ly. Ideal for cruise at 60°Magnetic.  Checking my weather apps. The Tabarca to Ibiza leg looked *fast*. It was due to freshen overnight up to about 20kts. With the growth on my waterline I reckoned 5 knots for a 110 odd mile passage. Leave at 11am. Get to destination in 20 to 22hrs.  Fine Sailing indeed And the wind built steadily all day. By 3pm we had 20kts on a broad Reach...yielding 7 plus knots.  Bit too quick. Our target anchorage based on forecast that AM was a beach slot in the SE corner of Formentera. Cute. ...

Remember...

When I create a post in draft then publish it, it lands on the draft creation date...not the publication date. So the outbound journey for OLYMPIC I was just published but posted against the 15th August.
